Automation Tools for PLCs: XGemPLC & GEM For PLC

Hello. This is Linkgenesis 🙂

Today, I’d like to introduce two types of solutions (Stand-Alone and Hardware-Integrated) to help you easily connect PCB data to GEM.

Let’s take a look!

Linkgenesis offers XGemPLC and GEM for PLC, solutions that make it easy for PLCs to communicate with hosts and GEM.

XGemPLC is a stand-alone S/W product that can be applied without separate application development for GEM communication.

GEM for PLC is an integrated S/W and H/W product that can be customized to the customer’s environment and is provided in the form of a box PC.

So, what is GEM automation?

You can think of it as easily uploading data from various equipment, sensors, etc. to the host end 🙂

It means to help you easily build a GEM communication environment on PLC-based equipment.

In addition, Linkgenesis provides a Configuration Tool to easily implement GEM automation, so you can easily and quickly build a GEM communication environment through data configuration!

I think we can look at GEM automation as sending two separate things.

First, the facility “sends changed information” to the host,
which is when the PLC records a changed value in a specific area, or when a change in value occurs, it passes that information to the host via XGem.

Second, the host ‘sends information changes‘ to the device,
which means that the host changes the value to the value received from the PLC when the value is passed and sets the Response bit to indicate that the value has changed.

Why is Linkgenesis’ solution a good choice for communicating between your facility and your host?

1) Reliability

As a SEMI member for more than 20 years and the largest automation communication solution provider in Korea, Linkgenesis supports SECS/GEM services based on XGemPRO, which is highly reliable.

2) Convenience

We provide a Configuration Tool that can conveniently set SECS communication information, GEM data settings, and PLC Map data settings required to operate standard GEM scenarios, and provide GEM Project Templates for easy use.

3) Easy to Use

After setting GEM and PLC Map data, it is possible to support GEM communication service by simply working on a PLC program that synchronizes the facility status in the mapped PLC memory area.

4) Powerful Flexibility

It is easy to apply standard GEM scenarios and modify GEM scenarios and messages according to the field environment.
